How long have you had migraines?
I’ve had migraines for approximately 20 years. I was in college when I had the first one it was the worst headache pain ever. The start of the headache was when I was on the way to school I probably took something to heal the pain but it got worse and worse but on the way back home the light was on and I had to keep my eyes closed, I felt like I was going to throw up.
When do you usually get migraines?
I haven’t noticed a trigger as far as any foods but most often my headaches occur in the morning. I’ll wake up with them and not just morning time, sometimes 3 am. It’s hard for me to understand when your body is resting and sleeping and to wake up with that type of pain is not good. I just don’t understand why that happens.
What have you tried pre-Cefaly?
I’ve tried different medications to see what worked best. For me an over the counter drug that’s basically a mix of aspirin, acetaminophen and caffeine has worked best. I think it’s because it has caffeine in it.
What does your migraine feel like?
Lots of times my headaches involve one side of my head or the other and the pain runs down through my neck. Sometimes it’s a pounding pain. Other times I also feel the pain behind the eye.
How did you hear about Cefaly?
I think I heard about it on TV, maybe Good Morning America.
What’s your Cefaly experience like?
I simply love the device. it makes my head feel so good. Even on some nights when I don’t have a headache I’ll put it on just because the sensation it gives the whole head makes you feel good. When I use it when I have a headache it also helps alleviate the pain as well. I haven’t been someone to use it on a regular basis to prevent one but I do use it when I get one or when I want to relax a little bit. I definitely have noticed an improvement which is great because the bad pain can completely ruin your day. I would say my migraines have decreased by at least 50-percent. I used to get them way more frequently than I do now.
What made you want to share your story?
I love the device and I know I don’t have any power to make people buy one but I can tell them about it. I have the Cefaly 1 and I keep it on my headboard that way it’s right there in case I wake up with a headache. It’s something I definitely want to have by my side.
